On Oct. 8, 1966 Joan Baez and the Grateful Dead played the Peace Concert.
Check this out: Judas Priest doing Joan Baez.

I have a couple of shows with Rob Halford singing with Black Sabbath if you are interested.

It was a sad day when John Entwistle died.
The Real Me may just be the best bassline ever.

Victim of changes, when it was white satin... before the black leather and stench of men on hogs. Classic stuff. Didn't you mention Fates Warning a few days ago? If so, I saw them in little bar in jersey called bonnie's. Stopped the show when some fat looking lou albano guy and I got into it and the associate of ours who was recently stabbed in ventnor (read the post on here) took one of those keychains with the metal ball on a cable like a billy club. Blood comes pouring out from his temple and I had my hand up ready to hit him. He thought I punched like bruce lee and went to get his friends. My stabbing victim friend decides to go back to the bar and order and alabama slammer while him and his buddy tried to jump me. I was about to mace them when the lights came on and the singer was shaking his head about 5 feet away. Loved that band but they hated me. Also another funny story from lamours in brooklyn. Was there to see forbidden with my band and our girlfriends. I got split up in the mosh and and came out to find the singer sitting on the hood of my car next to my girlfriend, smoking my joint. He was like, who are you? I said, that's my girl, my car and my joint, asshole. Then I said, just kidding man. And he started laughing. I tried to wipe a booger on his sleave when he wasn't looking, that was about the same time my guitar player got thrown up on stage at overkill and sat on top of an amp and finished a bear before he got booted off. Fun times.

Yeah, I'm a big, big fan of Fates. Jim Matheos is very underrated as a guitarist and a songwriter. He did a couple of acoustic albums a few years back. Both were really good. And you have to love the irony of a CD being released by Metal Blade Records that says file under New Age.
Unfortunately they are one of the few bands I haven't seen. They didn't make it out to the west coast as much as I would have liked.
